The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey

I wouldn't say that I'm a highly effective person. Whatever that means.

I think we all want to feel heard and understood.

The Seven Habits

  1. Be Proactive: Taking responsibility for one's life and choices.

  2. Begin with the End in Mind: Defining a clear vision for the future and basing current actions on that ultimate goal.

  3. Put First Things First: Prioritizing and executing the most important goals, rather than constantly reacting to urgent matters.

  4. Think Win-Win: Seeking mutually beneficial solutions in all interactions.

  5. Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood: Listening with empathy to truly understand others' perspectives before attempting to make one's own point.

  6. Synergize: Collaborating to find innovative solutions that are better than what any single person could achieve alone.

  7. Sharpen the Saw: Continuously renewing one's physical, mental, spiritual, and social/emotional strengths to maintain long-term effectiveness.
