The Long Life Vehicle (LLV) is the distinctive aluminum box that we see every day.

The Long Life Vehicle's body was manufactured by Grumman and the chassis by General Motors. These unique creatures first saw service in 1986.

The name "Long Life Vehicle" is fitting with most LLV's continuing service to this day.
